Accessible to specialists and the public, these archives undergo careful curation to protect sensitive information. The now accomplished HESCIDA project focussing on the integration of datasets with BALaT for enhanced accessibility, underscored the urgent need for fortified archival procedures of born-digital data. H-SEARCH now advances this mission, prioritizing long-term preservation and online accessibility under FAIR principles. Leveraging OCR and natural language processing, H-SEARCH will expand BALaT’s capabilities for comprehensive search functionalities. With a focus on valuable heritage objects and scientific rigor, H-SEARCH ensures a robust archive service, catering to both present and future demands.
